Liverpool Student Homes (LSH) is owned and managed by the University of Liverpool, Liverpool John Moores University, Liverpool Hope University, Liverpool Institute for the Performing Arts and Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine, and endorsed by their respective Students' Unions. Our aim is to offer a wide choice and to help all students in Liverpool to find good quality private accommodation.


We advertise a whole range of accommodation including large city developments, traditional houses, self-contained flats/studios, rooms in shared properties, short-term accommodation, owner occupier (Homestay properties).


As a benefit of accreditation, LSH provide honest, impartial advice as a not-for-profit organisation exclusively to our registered landlords and agents. We regulalry update accredited providers on important housing related matters, including:

The LSH Standards is the only accreditation scheme in Liverpool for private student accommodation. It is a set of property guidelines and requirements that you will need to meet in order to advertise your accommodation with us. The purpose of the standards are to ensure that registered properties all meet a minimum quality standard and is something that sets us apart from other accommodation providers.


Landlords and agents who are accredited by us must ensure that they not only meet property standards but also that they treat tenants in a courteous way and that their business practices are in-line with legislation. It's important that you are fully aware of your obligations and responsibilities to your tenants. 

Prior to applying for accreditation with us, we encourage landlords, agents and developers to gain a full understanding of the market, obligations and legislation which will impact how you do business. Please ensure you have read the relevant documents and information on this page and the previous pagethis is an important step in becoming accredited by LSH. We recommend that you pay special attention to the LSH Standards and the ANUK Landlords Handbook, as well as the Fire Safety documents.    





Accommodation providers can only apply for accreditation for properties that they have full managment responsibility for. This is to ensure that there is an accountable person who is responsible for ensuring that the accommodation meets the criteria in the LSH standards.















The quickest way to apply for LSH accreditation is to create an account online and add your properties.

Once the accreditation fee is paid it will not be refunded even if your property advert does not go live. You are responsible for ensuring you and your property can comply with the LSH standards and accreditation requirements before your application is submitted.
