Renters' Rights Act

The Renters’ Rights Act will have a significant impact on both students and accommodation providers in a number of ways. It is also likely to transform how housing advice is provided and has the potential to impact on Liverpool Student Homes and the services it provides.

LSH is expecting an announcement from the Government imminently as to when the first elements of the Act will commence. This means it is likely that current tenancies covering the period of the 2025/26 academic year will automatically be transferred on to some new provisions including the ending of Section 21 Notices and the conversion of fixed term agreements to periodic tenancies. The Government has announced there will be transitional arrangements for these aspects of the Act but they have yet to clarify all of the procedures.

Liverpool Student Homes will use this webpage to update relevant information on the changes this piece of legislation will be bringing to the student accommodation sector.
